Russian biathletes win women`s 4 x 6-km relay gold medal
Russian biathletes Anna Bogaliy, Svetlana Ishmuratova, Olga Zaitseva, Albina Ahatova win the women`s biathlon 4 x 6-km relay gold medal at the Turin Winter Olympics on Thursday.
Russian quartet showed the result of 1 hour 16 minutes 12,5 seconds.
Germany win the silver (being 50,5 seconds behind the Russian team) and France took the bronze (2 minutes 26,2 seconds behind the Russian team).
Germany was considered a favorite in the relay, the Russian team, being a real pretender for medals, was weakened by Olga Pyleva`s disqualification. However, Bogaliy, who replaced Pyleva, performed the first stage perfectly: she missed the target just once and finished the stage first.
